Competition News
HKRSA organizes local rope skipping competitions annually, it covers All Hong Kong Inter-School Rope Skipping Competition, All Hong Kong Age Group Rope Skipping Competition and Hong Kong Elite Rope Skipping Championship cum Hong Kong Delegation Team election. These competitions have attracted over hundreds of rope skipping athletes to participate. On the other hand, aiming to raise the acknowledgment of rope skipping in Hong Kong, HKRSA organize three different local competitions annually in order to make the rope skipping much more popular.
Asian Rope Skipping Championship (ARSC) is held every two years in the Asian country organized by Asian Jump Rope Union (AJRU). It is usually held from July to August in the odd-numbered year. HKRSA held the 5th and 10th Asian Rope Skipping Championships in 2009 and 2019 respectively. Our delegation team achieved an excellent result and won 100 medals in the 10th Asian Rope Skipping Championships in 2019. The countries and regions participated in the past including: China, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Hong Kong etc. Our Hong Kong Rope Skipping Delegation Team participated in the 3rd Asian Rope Skipping Championship for the first time in 2005. Up to now, HKRSA has sent delegation team to compete for the highest honour in Asia for 8 times.
World Rope Skipping Championship is held every two years from July to August in even-numbered years by FISAC - International Rope Skipping Federation, such as Sweden 2016 and Shanghai 2018 World Rope Skipping Championship. In the World Rope Skipping Championships 2018 – Shanghai, our Hong Kong Delegation Team achieved numerous outstanding results, including the historically won the top three places in Overall Results in 15+ Men’ Master Events, and the first time to be ranked in top three and won the Overall Runner-Up in 15+ Men’ Team Events. Our delegation team also achieved excellent results in women’ events and won the Champion in 14- Women’ Team Events in Overall Results. Eventually, our Hong Kong Delegation Team won 88 medals in total on this international stage. The countries and regions participated in the past including: Belgium, Australia, the United States, Germany, China, Hong Kong etc. The World Rope Skipping Championships is included 3 Championships, i) World Championships, ii) Junior World Championships, iii) International Open Tournament. Our Hong Kong Rope Skipping Delegation Team participated in the 5th World Rope Skipping Championship in 2004 for the first time in Australia. HKRSA has sent delegation team to compete for the world’s highest honour for 8 times.
